Northampton County and Habitat for Humanity Received Final Approval for “Homes at Forks” Attainable Housing

May 15, 2026

[Northampton County, PA]– After more than three years of hard work, perseverance, and adaptations, "Homes at Forks,"—a collaborative project being undertaken by Northampton County and Habitat for Humanity Lehigh Valley—has received final approval from Forks Township Board of Supervisors. The 12-acre development is located off Kesslersville Road near the Two T’s Family Entertainment Center and Braden Airpark in Forks Township.

This project will provide attainable housing for 25 families in need, a step forward in our goal of providing affordable housing options in the Lehigh Valley. In true Habitat for Humanity fashion, each future homeowner will contribute 250 hours of sweat equity in helping to build their home—a testament to the dedication and investment these families bring to their community.

“We are incredibly proud of what this project represents and are eager to begin preparing the site for development,” said Northampton County Executive Tara Zrinski.

The land was purchased in November 2022 by Habitat Lehigh Valley with support from Northampton County, which allocated $2 million in American Rescue Plan Act funds to the project.

“Habitat Lehigh Valley is so grateful to have such a wonderful partnership with Northampton County,” said Jessica Elliott of Habitat for Humanity Lehigh Valley. “We cannot wait to get started on making sure 25 hardworking families have a safe place to call home.”

“Last week, we finally crossed the finish line, and it is a moment worth celebrating,” Zrinski said. “More updates are forthcoming, as we move into this exciting next phase.”
