Tara Zrinski has been an active face in Northampton County politics. Elected to Northampton County Council twice she was elected as Controller in 2023, and County Executive in 2025. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Philosophy and English from Drew University, and two Master’s Degrees, one in Theological Studies and the other in Pastoral Counseling, both from Moravian Theological Seminary. She is an adjunct Professor at Northampton County Community College but has taught at Lehigh County Community College, Lehigh University and DeSales University. She is a mother of three boys, who was raised in Bethlehem Township, and currently lives in the City of Bethlehem.

Tara served several organizations that focus on environmentalism and open space/land preservation. She is the former local coordinator for Food and Water Watch and was the liaison to the Farmland Preservation Board and Open Space Advisory Council. She chaired the Northampton County Energy, Environment, and Land Use Committee and was a member of the committee of the same name at the County Commissioners Association of Pennsylvania. She sat on the Boards of the Wildland’s Conservancy, Northampton County Conservation District, and the Lehigh Northampton Airport Authority. She spearheaded the creation of an ad hoc Committee to promote the production, manufacturing, and processing of industrial hemp and the Karst Geology Advisory Council to address concerns for Bushkill Creek.

In addition to her service to Northampton County, Tara is a freelance writer, author, and illustrator, her most notable work including “All Ducks are Birds (but Not All Birds are Ducks).”
