Get Your Passport

This service is available Monday-Friday (By Appointment). You can make an appointment by calling the officer at (610) 829-6457

For all application requirements, please visit travel.state.gov.

  •  The County is offering passport photos for a $10 fee.
  • If having photos processed by the County, please report directly to the revenue department (2nd floor) 30 minutes prior to your scheduled appointment. 

Your application must be completed and not signed, prior to your appointment.


The Northampton County Prothonotary is an official acceptance agent for U.S. Passports. 


You may apply for your passport in the office if : 

1. You are a first time passport applicant

2. You are a minor wishing to renew your passport 

3. You have an adult passport that has been expired for five years

Processing times vary depending on demand. For up-to-date processing times please check with travel.state.gov. 

As a general guide;


  • Regular processing is approximately 8 to 11 weeks. 
  • Expedite processing is approximately 5 to 7 weeks.
  • Expedited at Agency     Must have international travel within 72 hours (3 business days)


YOU MAY OBTAIN THE APPLICATION ONLINE OR IN OUR OFFICE. YOU MAY COMPLETE THE APPLICATION IN ADVANCE, HOWEVER YOU MUST WAIT TO SIGN THE APPLICATION IN THE PRESENCE OF THE ACCEPTANCE AGENT.
